Henry’s First Haircut | Pet Portraits

“Once you have had a wonderful dog,

a life without one is a life diminished.”

                                          ~Dean Koontz

If you were in (or near) our house anytime around 4pm, you would have heard squeals of delight for about 30 solid minutes.  Why?  Neil went to pick up Henry & Mazy from the fabulous Hollywood Pets, here in Brooklyn.  Hailey and I were both home to greet them at the door, and we were in for a treat.

Henry is Hailey’s English Cocker Spaniel pup, whom we all are completely smitten with, and the specialness about this particular day was that it was Henry’s first trip to the groomers.

My first observation… he’s a lot whiter than we thought he was, LOL.  (And yes, we bathe him regularly!)  Secondly, though I LOVE his new ‘mature’ look, I loved his ‘fro’, and I miss it already!  His new ‘look’ still makes me smile, he looks so important now.

Since both dogs were clean and nicely groomed, we planned to hold a quick pet portrait session to capture the occasion.  I posted a few fav’s below.  Enjoy!

ps The clean white fur didn’t last long.  They played hard in the yard this morning and came in with crusty mud flakes.  Sheesh!

Here’s a pretty good before/after of the little mop.  The ‘before’ shot was taken a month ago.

And my favorite shot of Henry with Mazy, our 4-year old Gordon Setter:

Sweet Hailey…
