I get so fired up when I hear parents or kids talk about the alleged ‘ugly duckling’ phase of being a tween. I personally don’t believe in the ‘ugly duckling’ phase… so much so that I’ve added tweens to my line of photography specialties! My purpose is to show each girl who sits in front of my camera how stunningly beautiful and unique she is. I NEED her to see her own beauty like I need air to breathe. THAT is how important it is to me, and THAT is how hard I work to make sure this happens. #endrant
Ok.. whew, so now you know how I really feel about photographing young girls. It’s just that, when they’re in front of my camera and I see them let their guard down and completely trust me, and I’m able to shape them with gentle direction, then show them the back of my camera and hear them gasp quietly, it gives me goosebumps and it fulfills me.
So parents, I ask you this… WHY are you still relying on icky, monotonous “school pictures” when you could be giving your young daughter a tremendous boost in confidence and self-esteem, along with a memorable & fun experience?
