This family has a special place in my heart. I’ve been photographing their expanding family since Jill was preggers with Gage! I know us photographers use the word ‘honor’ a LOT (ie “It would be an honor to photograph your wedding” etc) but you just have to be in our shoes sometime to feel the love we pour into our work. So when I say it’s been an honor and privilege to document Gage, and now his sister Ava, those words couldn’t be more sincere.
Jill and Mike are DEFINITELY more country people than anything, so I crossed my fingers as I suggested an urban location for her family portrait session. I wanted something different for them this shoot. In the past we had always shot at a location that offered more natural elements like a pretty park or grassy meadow. Jill, being like putty in my hands, agreed. (Woop!) Jill had bought Ava an adorable dress and headband, so we coordinated the rest of the family’s clothing decisions around her outfit.
A day or so before Jill’s ordering appointment, she texted me pictures of her wall space using her iPhone (yes, it’s that easy), and, using my unique specialty software, I was able to use her own family room images during her appointment to design the beautiful wall groupings you’ll see at the bottom of this post, frames and all! This is a f-r-e-e service I offer to all clients that helps you make decisions with more confidence.
