Dear Cherished Clients & Friends

Neil, myself, and our daughters Hailey and Regan, couldn’t be more excited to announce that our family has decided to move to Southwest Florida!  It’s with excitement & some bittersweet emotions that we anticipate this move, but a sense of adventure fills us and makes this a very exciting time for us!

To any current clients who I still have yet to photograph, let me first assure you that we will be done with your photoshoot, and subsequent Ordering appointments well before our move.  I’m *absolutely* still booking photoshoots for seniors and families throughout the summer and would love to get you in front of my camera!   (Though my husband is expected to move sooner, I will not move until ALL of my photoshoots and appointments have been completed, which I’m estimating to be in the Fall.)

My clients, and integrity on how I run my business, as always, are my highest priority.

I’ve made some wonderful friends since moving to this awesome little town 15 years ago!  That’s the ‘bitter’ part about this whole move… moving away from family and friends will be gut-wrenching.  On a positive note, we will most definitely have a spare bedroom for guests, and Michigan-to-Ft Myers is usually a cheap flight, so please don’t be a stranger!

I look forward to sharing our journey with you!

Now that it’s June, Senior picture season is in full swing!  Katie came in this evening for her Ordering appt and walked out with my USB full-res digital image file option.  I’m thrilled for her and her mom, because I know how it feels to not have to walk away from any photos you absolutely LOVE!  Now Katie has a complete archive of her senior pictures, so she’ll not only be able to share her favorite photos on social media, they’ll also be able to create their own grad cards and album, and they’ll be able to purchase lower-cost prints and gallery wraps!

Katie’s photoshoot was held at Hidden Lake Gardens, which has such pretty backdrops.  I think what I loved most about this gorgeous Class of 2018 senior’s shoot is how she pulled together her outfits.  Everything she wore flattered her, and fit each setting perfectly!  Katie’s shoot was truly a team effort, when her dad showed up with her adorable dogs and pet hedgehog!  I love when we can capture meaningful shots like the ones below!  (And I have to give Debbie, Katie’s mom, due credit too, since she was my assistant the entire shoot!) 😉

Katie has been such a joy to work with!  She’s part of my Class of 2018 Elite Model Team, and I’ve gotten the chance to photograph her several times already.  Such a lovable girl with a natural smile and a kind heart!  I’m completely looking forward to what her senior year and beyond has in store for her!

Cameron and I had a blast during her senior portrait session! She’s a Columbia High School class of 2016 graduate. It’s always wonderful when your client’s family owns a gorgeous ranch for us to shoot at. The Buffalo Ranch in Hanover, made the perfect backdrop for Cam’s senior pictures! I’m still in love with how these turned out as I sit here scrolling through her collection!

She wanted a Fall session so we carefully watched when the colors would turn and were blessed with beautiful weather and tons of golden leaves and light that worked perfectly for her shoot.  I love that Cameron had her own vision for how she wanted her senior pictures to look and I love how her adorable family was there to help, every step of the way!  Tight knit families make my heart so happy.  Photographing humans and horses together can be a little tricky but with their support, everything went flawlessly! Dad toured us around select areas of their 240 acre farm, it was awesome!

I also love that her family will have her complete collection of session images to cherish for a lifetime!

Good luck at State Cameron!  Go Green!

What an amazing session this was! Shelby traveled from Northville to get her senior pictures done right here in the Irish Hills, at her family’s beautiful lake property.  Upon my recommendation, Shelby got her hair and makeup professionally done, which completely added to her entire senior photoshoot experience.  I mean, this is your day, you’re going to want to look and feel like your most confident self.  Most of my senior girls don’t want a heavy look to their makeup, and I couldn’t agree more!  I love a very natural look, ie foundation that helps even out any skin blotchiness, and hair that looks flowing and natural.  (We go over what to ask for from your stylist during your senior consult!)
 
Taking pictures next to her family’s lake was so much fun! Their side of the lake has a perfect little beach area, where we captured some summertime barefoot shots. The greenery and wildflowers were so gorgeous and perfect for this shoot. Shelby was a delight to photograph – and the natural landscape complimented her easy-going personality perfectly.  After we shot around Shelby’s grandparents’ lovely home, we went to an Irish Hills local treasure, McCourtie Park in Somerset, MI, which always makes for a stunning backdrop for senior pictures.  This park has so many diverse spots for pictures, from the intricate carved bridges to its natural rock stairs. Shelby’s beauty and grace just glows straight through these photos.
 
Being friends with Shelby’s wonderful family, I’m beyond ecstatic that I was able capture such an exciting time in Shelby’s life in pictures that they can keep and cherish forever. I wish Shelby nothing but the best of luck in her future endeavors as she begins the next chapter in her life.

I have such a special bond with Chloe! She is a part of my Class of 2016 Elite Model Team, and I’ve loved working with her!  (ps I’m slowly working through all the seniors I have left to blog from 2016!)  I’ve gotten the opportunity to capture images of this sweet girl several times, so I wanted to make her June senior shoot extra fun for her! Chloe is such a well-rounded young lady with a passion for animals.  She’s not only a member of FFA, she’s the president!  She does all of her livestock showing through FFA.  She’s also involved with cheerleading at Western.

Chloe chose her grandparent’s beautiful farm in Parma, MI for her senior picture location. This country setting couldn’t have brought out her personality any better! We got some breathtaking shots with her and her horse all around the farm. Afterwards, we headed over to Western High School for some images of her in her cheerleading uniform in front of a gorgeous sunset. When it comes to senior photography, I always recommend my clients get their hair and makeup professionally done, and that’s exactly what Chloe did! She hired Kelsey Elliott of Divinity Design Studios in Jackson MI, and her ‘look’ turned out beautifully! Chloe’s mom told me she could literally see Chloe’s confidence growing as she sat in Kelsey’s chair.  I love hearing that!!!  Who doesn’t want to feel more confident the day of their shoot??

As this chapter in Chloe’s life comes to close and graduation approaches, I could not be more proud of her! I know that with this next crazy adventure that she will be very successful, and we are all rooting for her! I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to make one of her last memories in high school so special, and could capture this moment for her forever!
