This girl is absolutely stunning and as kind-hearted as they come! Diana traveled 2 hours for her senior picture experience, and I had such a great time working with her. When Diana was growing up, she would visit St. Joseph’s Shrine here in the Irish Hills, and that experience stuck with her for years.  She was sure she wanted to hold her senior pictures there.  We scheduled her session in early November, while the leaves were still changing, which created such a colorful backdrop for her senior pictures.
Diana was seriously so much fun to work with! She and her mom had so many fun ideas in mind for her shoot, which made it an absolute blast and a very memorable experience! She was all about being unique! She even brought her sleek Mercedes to incorporate into several shots; she looked so fierce in those Christian Louboutin’s and her flattering black dress. To add to the uniqueness of her experience, we visited a few local Irish Hills hot spots and got a well-rounded gallery of images she was thrilled with.  We found a gorgeous wooden bridge and old country truck to shoot around. Diana’s session ended at the beautiful Clark Lake, where her beloved family friend rolled out his Harley-Davidson for her to get some pictures with. And wow! Did she rock it!!!

I remember graduating high-school. It was such a bittersweet moment. Leaving your old friends behind, but having a lifetime ahead of you to meet new ones. That feeling of accomplishment & relief when you’ve taken your last final exam.  In a way, it’s sad to know that you are saying goodbye to your childhood – but it’s so exciting to finally enter the life of being an adult. Oh, Bela, I am so glad I got the chance to meet you and be a part of this wonderful journey ahead of you. You are such a beautiful girl inside and out.

Bela is a class of 2016 grad, attending Madison High School in Adrian, MI. Her presence is one that draws the attention from everyone around her.  She has such an easy-going confident nature, and such a beautiful, natural smile. Bela was a natural in front of the camera, and was so fun and easy to photograph. Her outfits were perfect and well thought out! My favorite was the dress she brought for our last location.  It complimented her figure flawlessly and also gave her such a unique look for her senior pictures (mission accomplished!)

Bela’s mom, Stasi, joined us, and we truly had a blast.   It was obvious that this mama and daughter share a strong bond, they were both so authentic.  I find that when I have clients like this, our photoshoot flies by so quickly (too quickly!)  We decided to hold Bela’s photoshoot in downtown Jackson at some of my favorite hot-spots.  Jackson has such a great variety of backdrops – from urban to natural to classic, all within a short distance of each other.  It was the perfect location for Bela’s senior picture vision.

I know this world is going to be better because of the impact that Emily is going to have on it.  Emily is graduating from Tecumseh High School in only a few short weeks! It’s crazy how quickly time flies.  I know great things are in store for her after graduation.   

Emily was on my Class of 2016 Elite Model Team,  so I’ve gotten the chance to work with Emily a few times prior to her senior pictures, making this shoot fun and comfortable.  I scarcely had to coach throughout her shoot, she’s such a natural in front of the camera.  She has a wonderful personality that shines through her in her photos.  I think she might get that from her mom Carrie because I love the time I got to spend with both mother and daughter.  Carrie’s been a great role model for her daughter since she is someone who has such a beautiful and vibrant personality.  Emily, and her family, has a special place in my heart. 

Emily’s senior pictures were so much fun to capture.  She was up for the challenge of multiple scenery changes as we went to a few of my favorite locations in Manchester, MI.   Our final stop was Em’s ballet studio in Downtown Tecumseh, where we simply ‘created’.  There’s nothing better in the world than to draw energy from another artist, which makes Em’s senior shoot one of my all time fav’s.  It’s always fun to create portrait art with another truly talented artist! 

Emily – I will be cheering you on, sweet girl, as you graduate in a few weeks! I know great things will come your way and I cannot wait to see where life takes you.

Did you know that the lily flower has long been a symbol of innocence, purity and beauty?  Given a history to a name like that, it makes sense that this little girl is a precious little beauty!  I really enjoyed taking sweet baby Lilee’s newborn photos.  This little one truly is little because she graced this earth a whole month early!  When she was born she weighed just 5 pounds! 

Lilee was a dream to photograph!  She slept peacefully during her entire photoshoot, which enabled me to get a variety of stunning photos of her.  It was endearing to see Lilee’s doting parents snuggle her in-between sets and of course it was a huge honor to be able to take Paul and Ashlee’s first family photo, as they adoringly held their tiny newborn. 

These will be wonderful memories the family can continue to cherish as their Lilee grows to be even more beautiful, just like her namesake flower’s meaning.

Sweet bliss! It always makes taking pictures more fun whenever you feel a connection with the family, and baby Oliver’s mom, Liz, felt like an old friend! We couldn’t get over how Oliver was able to sleep through the entire photo-shoot. We were just waiting for the second he would wake up and cry, but thankfully he was as peaceful as can be the whole time. I don’t know about you guys, but I am a sucker for little baby rolls, and this cutie was such a little chunk! Perfect in every way possible!

I’m in love with natural organic earth tones, which matched this little one’s sweet freshness. My favorite picture is the one where Oliver is resting beneath the quilt made by his very own grandmother. This image truly melted my heart! Bringing in this personal touch really made this photoshoot extra special for the entire family. I believe that this blanket will be something that Oliver grows up with and cherishes forever, and feel so blessed that I was able to capture the very first memory he had with the quilt and Mum was able to send a beautiful portrait of that image back to Grandmother in England. I am so blessed that I was able to work with this little angel!

At the end of the session we were even treated to a little peek of his gorgeous eyes. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Oliver and his sweet family <3
